CES 2016 / Las Vegas, USA
At CES 2016 in Las Vegas, we created a breathtaking Dome Theater using 112 Curved OLED TVs, combining 42 wall units and 70 ceiling units to form an expansive 60K resolution display (wall: 62415 x 8895, ceiling: 30000 x 30000). This immersive theater, designed to captivate a global audience, showcased the stunning quality of OLED technology by displaying scenes from space to the deep sea. And this meticulous design and innovative execution were recognized with the Red Dot Design Award in the exhibition category.
LG Curved OLED TV 112 units (60K resolution)
Entrance of the LG booth
- Designed to captivate visitors and create a sense of anticipation
- Consideration for high foot traffic areas
- Multi-dimensional display of OLED’s vivid image quality
- Integrated sound and visual content to maximize immersion
We designed a dome-shaped theater to maximize viewer immersion, utilizing the unique curvature of the OLED screens. The theater showcased breathtaking scenes from the birth of light in perfect blackness, transcending space-time through a black hole, to deep-sea creatures like whales and jellyfish. The synchronized sound and visuals created a stunning narrative experience. The 7.1 surround sound system, tailored to the theater's massive scale and layout, enhanced the emotional impact of the visuals. We strategically managed reflections from the TVs and other exhibit lights to enhance the illusion, making the content even more mesmerizing. This innovative design earned us the Red Dot Design Award in the exhibition category. https://www.red-dot.org/project/lg-electronics-ces-2016-oled-14712
