Parachuting VR

2017

Challenge

This in-house developed project involves extreme VR content, utilizing a harness and wire system with three motors for motion control. Users complete three missions involving horizontal high-speed and vertical low-speed parachuting experiences.

1 HMD 1st Generation + 3-Axis Motion Simulator

Diameter: 2.5m, Height: 3.5m

Users, equipped with a harness and wires, can experience approximately 3 minutes of VR content through three courses using a deployment button and hand motion controllers.

Process

Users are connected to the motion simulator via harness and wires and experience immersive content through an HMD. This extreme VR game simulates high-difficulty parachute jumps, with missions involving infiltration into various terrains. The game includes a beginner mode, with missions starting at 6,000 feet, controlling high-altitude and low-altitude drops, flying, and landing. Advanced courses include Destroyed City Course where users start at 10,000 feet avoiding artillery attacks and landing at designated points in a war-torn city and Cliff Course where they start at 14,000 feet navigating a dangerous cliff descent, dodging whirlwinds, and avoiding dinosaur attacks to reach the landing point.
