Hunminjeongeum, A Millennium of Script Planning

2022 / National Hangeul Museum 


Challenge

We oversaw the complete renovation of the National Hangeul Museum's content, marking the first major update since its opening on Hangeul Day in 2014. The exhibition, , aims to convey the reasons and background behind the creation of Hangeul, based on the prologue by Jeong In-ji. We used light and natural sounds to deliver the beauty of Hangeul through narrative and symbolic imagery.

5 laser projectors

(Resolution: 5,949 x 3,352 px)

Entry space of the exhibition designed to capture visitors' interest through integrated system presentation (considering projector installation, projection distance, content layout, and sound)

- Content aligned with the theme of 

<Hunminjeongeum, A Millennium of Script Planning> 

- Immersive video production considering the space size and projector characteristics 

- Creation of audiovisual experiences to deeply engage visitors



Process

Following the millennium script plan designed by King Sejong, we emotionally connected visitors to the history of Hangeul and its limitless cultural impact. Using narrative and symbolic images tailored to multi-faceted projection, we created an immersive experience through simulations and tests. 


Frame Out

The theme of at the National Hangeul Museum was effectively conveyed through projection mapping, filling the exhibition hall's four walls with engaging visuals and music. This project can also be viewed on the National Hangeul Museum's YouTube channel. AFRAME was responsible for all media from the entrance to the interior of the National Hangeul Museum.
